The Jacksonville City School system is part of a rich educational experience in Jacksonville. Home to also Jacksonville State University (JSU), the Jacksonville City School system and JSU provide a diverse K-12 and university atmosphere. The two educational institutions partner together on the Collaborative Regional Education (CORE) initiative. This initiative was formed in 2011 to "change education from the inside out".
